Hello
Today i attepted to take my au powders and double
Refine them a second time
Gathered all powderd in green solution put in my new
Pyrex container. Added 300ml of hcl ,heated, addef
100 ml of bleach 3 times
It still looks like au powders in pic
Tested solution positive

Am i safe to assume its dirt or something other than
Au

Ps. I did this to see if i could clean my powders but didnt
Realize it is still a green solution  du

Back to the washes.

Sometimes it may be hard to tell what the remaining powders are

After decanting solution I would try another leach, especially since these look black to me, if I still had remains and I am still not sure if they may still be of value, then they would go to my bucket of chips or filters to be incinerated later or the stock pot.

From the looks of your solution, you are getting base metals into solution with your gold.

Thanks butcher perfect timing I'm still. Steaming.

Base metals huh . you mean the green solution
Well yes of course as I didn't wash my powders

It's one of those things you can't see until you actually do it
I thought a second leach would clean the green(copper)
Out of the solution
Only to realize the green is from the powders not the
solution
So i learned something that would seem very simple
But for me not until I see it

This is good now as I understand my powders need
to be clean not my solution
My solution needs to be clear thus telling me my powders
Are clean 8)
Thanks steyr223 rob

I will put my filter in a second leach from this solution
It looks like all this added up to 1 of 3 hcl washes
Which i could have accomplished all the washes in a shorter
Time
Every time i cut a corner i end up wrapped up in a bob wire
Fence face down in a ditch when all i had to was walk around
The corner
