Looks like Silver tarnish, but that wouldn't make sense. Not really Gold looking either. ??

those are female connectors;; Spread open one or several of the connectors and you should see very small GOLD plating on the inside of the female connector,,....

thanks paul .. i did spread one open and polished .. there is some minor color change on the inside .. i think time has taken it's toll on the plating on these .. they look pretty skimpy .. regards
