I picked up about 600lbs of these type of boards from a military base today, Does anyone know anything about them. They are all made by johnson controls, The dates on the boards range from 1983-1989. This picture is about as good as I can get with my phone, I dropped a battery backup on my camera. The camera did not win. Thanks.

My guess is that the boards were used air conditioning or refrigeration. Can you post a part number.

The six blue things in two groups of three look like potentiometers to me.
Crack one open and see if there is a gold plated screw type thing inside of it.
Seems like I have harvested some gold from them in the past. 8)

Did these come from Allen Avionics controllers? If so you need to get your hands on the recieving sockets(backplanes),and there should be mil-spec barrell connectors on the front of the boxes. The boxes will be made of thick stainless, instead of ferrous steel, and the plating on the fingers will be very thick, upwards of 4-4.5 grams au per pound of fingers.
If I am wrong then Im sorry, but thats what they look like to me.

Glorycloud, I broke one open, just as you suspected. There was a golden colored screw inside.

Johnny, I actually Got a whole gayloard box full of these boxes that the boards slide into. I have a picture of the boards that are in them. The Pins are circled in red and the female socket that slide on the pins is circled in white. The box however seems to be a galvanized steel. The date on the box has a date of 1977. Thanks for you all your help guys.

1977 may make them grummans or boeings, neither of which I know a lot about. All of the equiptment we get from boeing is newer server stuff from dell, and we do not get equiptment from grumman, but I know there were a buyer of johnson controls'.If I knew who the buyer was I may be able to give you more info since I get a lot of mil spec stuff, and a lot of it comes from the air force side of nasa.Sorry I couldn't help more.

I forgot to add I have a friend that has some older stuff that I wasn't interested in.......the material ended up having several hundred pounds of silver in it  .I have always said that just because it doesn't glitter, doesn't mean its not worth a fortune! You may be sitting on a little retirement money.
