Anyone know what's going on over at Boardsort? My emails have been bouncing for 2 days now. Not sure if they are overrun or if something went sideways

I have heard via other forums, that many people are having the same problem. Vacation I guess. LOL. Here is the link. T

It is the second to last post at this time.

Chris got spammed. I finally got through & this was part of our communication. Hope you don't mind me sharing, Chris.

My inbox here at boardsort is under siege by a mass spammer who scraped my email from the various forums we are mentioned in. It has actually gotten so bad that I missed a whole days worth of email because my inbox was flooded full.

Great!! That explains why you didn't answer me on monday. And your cell number was on my old cell phone. Well email me when you get some time to breathe. And send me a copy of that individuals email address.I'll take care of it.

I emailed Chris about some boards, he asked me to send him some pics. I sent three emails containing the pics and all but one came back. tried forwarding them again today and they came back again.

Chris-Let us all know when you are freed up so we can continue sending you stuff to work on.

He is pretty freed up,but still playing catch up.You guys know that he WILL get to you as soon as he can.

i had a similar issue, but my email was replying/forwarding/?? all our cumulative emails, incl. attachments, which make a HUGE message which will get bumped. Forward, then edit out extra crap, should work ok.

Lets help Chris, here - I know he's helped us a lot.

I drove up to Boardsort this past Friday, Sept. 30th. Chris and his crew did all the work and was very fast to take care of me. My only problem is that they have no Phone number at this point to contact them if you get lost or turned around. My GPS saved me as it was nearly a 600 mile round trip for me. I usually mail him 40 pound lots but had about 140 so I took the day and drove up.

They ARE in business and quite busy. I believe Chris does a little bit of everything up there so he is a busy man.

I will continue to do business with him, even if he falls behind a little. As for spamming, I have been cancelled out on Craigslist several times here in Ohio when I ran ads looking for computers so I do believe if he said he got spammed that it is the truth.

Chris has always done right by me. I'm sure they will have the issue resolved quickly and be back doing business as usual.

Good to hear things are still going there, though too bad about the spam attack. Guess I better get off my behind and get this box ready to go then :D

Dear GRF members,

Thank you to all of you who have been taking my heat for the past month and a half, it has been a crazy time. On top of the website, we also operate a warehouse, where we take in many pounds of material that needs to be accounted for. We have doubled our staff to help with this but we still not where we need to be help wise.

There are several things happening at the moment that has effected my ability to promptly reply to your emails in the time frame that I would like. First and foremost, I was using a fairly simple email provider that did not have the tools or the storage that I needed to effectively service my customers. I have since moved our service to a new mail system, which has helped the spam situation greatly and provides me with 10 times the storage.

This still leaves me with an abundant amount of legitimate emails that I work tirelessly to answer. I try to take each one as serious as the next by taking the time to answer each question, look at each picture, and quote each board. Apparently there are forums out there that have been directing users to me just for appraisal purposes with no real intent on selling. I do not mind and accept this as part of the business, and will answer each one as if they are sellers, but it does slow me down. We are working on a plan to address that, more on that later.

I promise you, I will answer every email that I see. It could take me a day or a few, but I will get to you. If you suspect I did not get your message (it happens) or you feel I am taking too long, please feel free to send it again, I will understand and not consider you as being pushy, honest! We are dealing in transactions that can have several zeros attached, so I must take the time to ensure each is handled properly and accurately.

If you sent in a quote using our online web form, there is a chance that it never arrived. I have tested it over and over and it works every time for me. BUT, I have had several reports (mostly from cell phone users) of these form quotes going unanswered. With that being said, perhaps it is best just to drop me a good old fashioned email with your data and we can work from there. (which is what we would end up doing anyways)

The first of the year we plan on switching to a more powerful, efficient method of operation that will streamline the entire transaction from quote to pay. I am confident that will relieve much of the bottleneck we are experiencing.

Until then I will strive to effectively service each and every customer as quickly as I can. I am not on the forum as much as I would like to be, so it could be a bit before I am able to read this thread as I am tending to other online and warehouse responsibilities mentioned above, as well as traveling to large material purchases.

Thank you for your understanding, patience and your patronage!

Gratefully,

Chris Skeeles

Glad to see you back Chris. I was trying to get ahold of you a week or so ago.

Its human nature to whine and complain when things are bad, but people don't always mention when things are good. I should note that since I posted this back at the end of September I have sent 2 boxes off to Chris and at least for my part things are back to the norm there. Other than that one hiccup I almost always receive an answer within 24 hours to a question or quote request.

I agree, Chris will always get back to you in a day or few. Everyone needs to be away from there buisness every once and awile. For anyone looking for someone to sell to, TRUST me he is fair, prompt and strait forward. He will do you right.

Sorry I didn't post my second great experience with Boardsort, but here goes. I emailed Chris on Sunday the 13th, and Chris called me on Monday the 14th. We made arrangements for me to drop off on the 16th and all went quite well. There was some boys from Kentucky waiting their turn at the scale, but Chris took the time to answer some questions I had about different material. Thanks for your time.

I do know Chris is a busy man, but i have to say that he has never failed to pay upfront and he has always returned my calls and email. Just last week i sent close to 400 lbs of boards to him,19 boxes full. Speaking for myself I won't do business anywhere else. Chris and boardsort are the best. Thanks Chris for all your help.

Hi All,
I haven't been able to reach Boardsort by email for about a week. I know some of you guys have dealt with them in the past and had nice things to say. Does anyone know why they might not be replying to email at this time? Any info would be appreciated.

See the above post from Goldwasser, dated November 4th, 2011, 2:04 pm. Hopefully that will help you out some.

I have been trying to "feel out" this company and sell them some scrap and so far the prices are great and payment is promp on the few lots that I have shipped to them.
Having said that, I am not used to waiting 4 to 5 days for a reply. My other buyers get back to me (sometimes) within an hour or so.
For the volume that I deal in, I need faster reply time to schedlue shippments, drop offs, and keep things moving out of my warehouse.
