I hate to admit it,because Chris is a nice guy and all,but I agree.I have had a couple of emails that were never answered at all.And one of them was a price request,so I could send an invoice. My other buyers usually answer within an hour or two,and usually pay in 10-20 minutes.I do not sell large quantities, but when I need the money,I need the money. And since he refuses to give out his cell number anymore I cannot get a hold of him.Funny thing,I had his number programmed in my old phone, but it died.I never called him once when I had his number, but when I needed it,I asked him for it twice, and recieved no response.Others on the forum still have it though.Oh well.

If you are in a hurry, you may need to go elsewhere. However I will stick with boardsort. Communications on my last transaction just before Christmas were tedious (a gaylord full) but i eventually got paid what we agreed upon, just in time to "pay Santa"

As a matter of fact, i plan on selling all of the escrap i collect from now on. It's just not worth the hassle for ME to attempt recovery of PM's. While i have had some success recovering/refining, it is just not for me. I strongly recommend to anyone thinking about escrap recovery to take serious note of the following:

1) If you do not have the patience, and time to research everything you need to know about a process from start to finish, STOP NOW.
2) If you do not have the mental capacity to LEARN, and REMEMBER all of the things you need to know, STOP NOW before you hurt yourself or someone else. (my memory is horrible. i have a slight learning disability due to lead posioning as a kid, so I can relate)
3) If you do not have a PROPER place to carry out even the simplest experiment you want to try, STOP NOW. Your spare bedroom, your basement, your back yard, and you shed most likely WILL NOT suffice in most cases. Despite the warnings i read in advance, i have a shed full of tools and equipment rusting from exposure to HCL fumes. Do not try to get around the need for a PROPER place to work by "starting small", You most likely will just poison yourself quicker! Yes, smaller reactions generate less fumes, that you may not even notice you are exposing yourself to at the time.

If you can satisfy the above points, by all means give it a try, and have fun. But if you cannot, just sell your scrap and pocket the cash like i plan to do from now on. 8)

I would sell,if I could get a decent offer for my good stuff.I guess I will just keep stockpiling for now.

after reading earlier comments about boardsort on this website i sent a test sample if gold pins to Chris. It took nearly three weeks to get a price out of them( to be fair he noted they were going to be on vacation until 1/24 but they received my package before they left), which i found unsatisfactory. i asked for the pins to be shipped back, at my expense. I even sent them a fedex label. That was three days ago.

Perhaps Boardsort.com is reputable, but i found communication to be seriously lacking. Emails i sent were never answered in less than two days and sometimes not at all. At one point Chris sent me an email, i responded within minutes (a price quote on a substantial batch i had before me that had to be decided that day), and got a reply three days later.

When asked about this i was told they were very busy. Busy is fine, but too busy to deal with customers is not an organization i can do business with.

Not making excuses for Chris but maybe some advise. I currently own and operate a small business and think maybe he is at the point where he is still trying to do much of the laborious part of day to day tasks and has grown to a point where he should consider stepping back and concentrate more on the Public Relations part of the business and let employee's handle the other stuff. I don't claim to know how he is set up or if he even has payroll or not but maybe just empathize just a bit to be able to offer some blind advise. I have been in the position of being too busy and not managing it properly, you can get consumed in your day to day tasks, it's just human nature I guess.

Chris is not the owner of boardsort. Boardsort is the website for Cleveland computer recycling. Chris works for the owner Bruce as a part time buyer/business development person. He also has his own full time job doing website design and consulting.

Are we jealous?
I am well aware that Chris is not the owner of boardsort.I have known that since Chris joined this forum. At no time on this forum,or any other that I am aware of,has Chris presented himself as the owner of boardsort. You are clearly trying to smear Chris' name on this forum. I am not aware of a single person that has had a problem with either Chris,or Boardsort. If I see you making another smearing remark without just cause I will contact a moderator immediately! Our mods do not take kindly to this sort of action, and neither do I.On the other hand,If you have some sort of information that needs to be brought to someone's attention(which I highly doubt),our moderators are more than capable of handling it.Send it to them,in a private message, not publically, and let them deal with it,that is why they are here.

I didn't see any negativity in what he said. I didn't know about the whole boardsort thing. Didn't mean to start anything. SRY

It is possible that I misenterpreted what CLR said.To me it looked as though CLR was trying to smear Chris' name. However If I was wrong, and that is not the intended message, then I am sorry.I would much rather that be the case, then to think that someone would make a public attack, against a member like Chris.

From my perspective CLR was just clearing some things up, perhaps if people understood he had an additional FULL time job on top of his duties at boardsort they would understand he is super busy, that way people can be patient with him. I cant imagine how much email he has to deal with from boardsort in addition to a job, its easy to miss things from time to time - we are human :)

Chris always appears to be pretty quick for me. Even if he did take a day or two, he would still be faster than waiting until the 15th of the month like some places do.... :|

I am confused as to what I said was in any way a smear towards Chris. I have known the owner of boardsort for many years before they had a website and Chris worked for them. You need to calm down and not jump to conclusions.

I'm with CLR. He was simply stating facts not trying to insinuate. Enough arguments guys.

This situation has gone entirely too far.
What CLR wrote could have been taken more than one way,and I wrote what I did based on what I thought it meant.I said I was sorry if I was mistaken,CLR said I was mistaken, and that should have been the end right then! There should have been no more comments written about that situation after that. And just so there is NO misundertanding,CLR said that he did not mean it that way,and I apologized.I do not make that mistake often, but I did apologize for it.No need for any further comments about it.

No need to elongate this. I just wanted to inform people who didnt know so they could understand why not to get upset if they did not hear a response back from Chris. In the end we are all here to become more knowledgeable and profitable.

Is anyone else currently not getting a reply from chris... Been over a week now and I have sent him 5 emails. Does anyone have a phone #? thanks
