These are polyswitch resettable fuses, also known as positive-temperature coefficient fuses.
Generally, I've seen several types of components made of a wad of homogenously mixed particles compressed into a pellet, through which electricity is meant to pass. To connect wires to the pellet, they put a thin metallization of metal on either side of the pellet. This metallization is sometimes silver. (it often looks like silver, I only tested rarely)
