I refined some karat scrap and made a nice bar that weighs .950 troy ounces.

You can see the process I used on this forum under CHEMICAL PROCESSES. The title is something like "I refined my first gold bar"

The bar was actually refined twice.

I took it to some local buyers and they were all scared to death of it.

One of the buyers said that it could not be gold because it was "too yellow and too heavy".

they all wanted to know where I got it.

I would like to try and sell this bar. Can someone point me in the right direction.

I think I heard of a place called asa?

Thank you - kadriver

Perhaps you should have taken it to them the first time around after your first refinement

I have made two tranactions with ARAgold.com (American Refining Associates) in Dallas Texas.

I am completely satisfied with there payout and promptness.

They were a little slow in getting back to me on the first transaction (due to Thanksgiving Holiday I think).

I ended up having to call, but they quickly made up for it by having the funds in my account that very day via wire transfer. The amount they paid out was dead-on with the amount I was expecting.

The wire transfer cost $20 from ARAgold.com, and my bank charged me $5 to receive the wire.

I sent in a gold bar that I had double refined myself. John, of aragold.com, said he could tell it was pure gold and immediately paid out 98% of the spot price for that day.

Dealing with an honest refiner is like taking breath of fresh air. Especially after dealing with others who seemed less than honest in their transactions.

ARAGold.com gets my seal of approval - until they give me a reason to revoke it.

I would be a buyer of your bar. My company is Precious Metal Refining Services, Inc. located in Barrington, IL 800-323-9785 ext. 12. We refine gold , silver, platinum and palladium. Turnaround is usually two days from receipt. Depending upon your assay of material we would return to you 98 to 99% of the recoverable metals. Advise.
