Cat recycling is a process that can be done in stages. I have set up a few refiners to do the de-canning followed by ball milling followed by sampling and assaying. At that point they have a homogeneous powder and they know what is in it.

At this point there is a fork in the road, you can go the chemistry route or you can opt to ship to Europe to a plasma arc furnace to have it refined. It is tough to compete with the arc furnace prices when you consider chemicals and waste.

Attached is a high end de-canning equipment manufacturer. I have no affiliation with them but their equipment is very nice, safe, and includes dust collection.

I have a setup for decanning milling and sampling and I am looking at the chemical route at the moment.
Are there no good places to send the powders for plasma recovery in the USA?

Welcome to the forum .
I would advise you to listen to 4metals, the charges from the refiners are less than the losses you will encounter trying to wet refine plus you are left with a highly toxic waste to dispose of properly which will not be cheap.
Im sure there were plasma furnaces in the US in the past who refined this product so try an internet search and see if they still exist.
