Cheap Strong Iodine 7% Tincture Source

I need to buy gallons of the strong 7% Iodine Tincture for use in stripping of gold (Not that Povidone Iodine stuff). All the sources I've found wants $40 for a gallon.

Does anyone know a reasonable source? I"m willing to buy in 5 or 10 gallon sizes.

Just figured I'd mention this: buying a lot of iodine tincture can raise eyebrows as it's now illegal to possess elemental iodine in any quantity due to DEA regulations (Iodine and its compounds are used in clandestine drug synthesis). Of course this isn't a problem if the person who sells to you knows what you do, but if they don't, I've read (online) that vendors have been told to be suspicious.

You can still buy KI or NaI (which seems stupid), and that can be used as a substitute for tincture.
