This is the glass rod I used to stir in the SMB on my First time using AP method topic. The pictures aren't first quality because I used my cell phone camera with a 30x jewelers loupe in front of the camera to get a good close-up. You can clearly see some sort of salt? crystals had formed when the SMB was added to the AuCL3. When I wash my powder in boiling water and HCL, will this salt formation dissolve or is there another step I'd need to take to get rid of salts?

Yea, the HCL is what should dissolve any left over base metals and the water boils should dissolve any salts. I actually alternate HCL and H20, not sure if that hurts/helps anything.. :)
