I am currently dealing with a melter in Toronto who is pretty fair, pays well, but has to send out for an assay so I am stuck coming back for the remainder.

I was wondering if anyone here has any experience with CNC. The website hits all the right notes (www.goldrefining.ca), but I was looking for anyone here who has some first hand experience with them.

I am planning on a refinery run shortly with some jewelry that I have accumulated and was considering splitting my lot to see how they operate.

TIA,
Daniel

Ive never used them, but Ive used Imperial Products before, w/ no issues. There is also Xpress Gold.

Let us know your feedback, once you have made your choice

** EDIT ** - I believe you mentioned to me before that you were using Xpress refining. Xpress's terms are the same as CNC, May I ask why your no longer using Xpress ?

Actually, I am not using Xpress and have no knowledge of their operation.

The company that I have used pays 98% but they quote spot at $20US less than current, which, at $1k gold is about 2%. They advance up to 80% of value but hold 20% for assay confirmation, which is about 48 hours. Since I am out of town, that is not very handy.

I really like the operation and think they do a good job, but a true 98% and full payment at the transaction is what I am looking for.

Still have yet to use them.

My current arrangement still seems to be working well, and have decided to keep it simple for now.

Do you mind if I ask who are currently using? And would you recommend them?
PM me if you do not wish to say in public.

Cheers!

Hi: I read their web site and chose CNC Gold Refining to do my first transaction. I was told on the phone that the fee was $25. for the essay and the payout was 98%. The shipping insurance was expensive through Canada Post....some places don't charge at all, they will send an envelope and it's free. CNC - (Jerry) told me it had to be melted down and that would give me the best payout.....even though I had everything sorted by carat. Afterwards the invoice arrived, a MINIMUM FEE OF $150. My payout gold weight seemed low too, but I can't prove anything there. I indicated on their form to return any gems recovered......did not receive those. When I called to complain, he became irate and I knew the conversation was going nowhere......his answer was "I thought you were talking kilo's, we cannot not do this for nothing"!!!! I've waited for their cheque to clear before posting on the web.....wish I had this info beforehand. I will not deal with them ever again. Honesty is always the best policy, once bitten, twice shy!
