Copper mixed with pgm in solution

Is the only way to separate without dropping the copper with platinum besides electrolysis? I poured my ammonium chloride in solution and platinum dropped and I waited for it to settle and when I went back there is a line green precipitate about a half inch thick layered on top of the platinum. I’ve researched trying to find a way but can only find electrolysis.

Platinum - do you mean ammonium hexachloroplatinate?
