I haven't contated the person yet to see if I can test it. I dont know if he would feel about me dropin acid on his plates. maybe ill see if he will sell me just one plate first

They are most likely gold, gold plating on porcelain and glass is very common, but unless the whole plate is plated, there is not much there, the gold is so thin you could see through it.

do you think 10 bucks is to much for 24 10inch plates and 6 coffey cups with saucers?

Beats the heck out of paper plates but your not going to find any gold on corelle.

Those corel plates are just painted cheapos. I had them as a kid and didn't even look like gold.
I only get FREE! glass with gold on it. I have more then enough to process but not the space...currently.. Too much else goin on.
I goto the local auction and get the $1.00 lot boxes. For less then $20, I can ding profit in just the AL found let along the CU or electronics and gold glass.
I've found a couple pieces very heavily plated on vases and plant holders. Handed painted. As well as all the anniversery glasses and "limited edition" plates that are worthless.
Free is always da bestest...
B.S.
