Hi all,

When the copper cover is removed from a Pentium4 CPU chip, the underside shows a yellow patch on some. Is this Au and if so how do I harvest it without using up a lot of chemicals dissolving the copper base.

Thanks in advance

Gary

The name of the copper part is heat spreader. Yes, it's gold and the solder used is indium solder.
