Many thanks to all you guys who give up your time to help us newbies.
I know of two very dangerous mistakes to avoid when working with sulphuric acid. 1: Adding water to the acid instead of acid to water. 2: Putting stuff (gold-plate etc.) into the acid without ensuring that it is 100% dry.
Now I would like to know if there are any other dangerous mistakes I should be careful to avoid.
Thanx again.

This is a pretty good thread with some things to avoid.

keep ammonia away from pregnant solutions. Yes, Ammonia is used with silver chloride, but thats a different beast all together.

Concentrated sulphuric is one of the nastiest acids we use, always always wear chemical resistant gloves and protective eyewear, if it splashes on you wash it off immediately, when not in use cover it as it can and will absorb water from the atmosphere hence its dangers to you, do not breathe in any of the fumes, use in a well ventilated area as it will damage your airways and lungs if you inhale it.
As with most chemicals we use it is dangerous so fully read up about it before use and take the necessary steps to keep you, your family, pets, home, neighbours and the environment safe.
