Ellias - im new and just started collecting random eletronics that are broken. Want to recover when i cannot Pan for gold

Nice to mert everyone - I hope i can gain valueable insight before i start any work and want to make sure of the followng priorities are met before i start anything.

0. SAFETY IS NUMBER 1
1. I want to make sure i can ethically dispose via neutralization. (Aiming for rust to throw and salt water down sink)
2. Small batches for me only
3. Just a hobby and dont mind the long wait times (ive seen with vinegar and h2o
4. I will never mix ANYTHING without knowing the end product.

Welcome to the forum.
1: neutralizing does not remove all toxic waste from solution, you need to follow the "dealing with waste" thread; cement and form hydroxides.
2: start with test tubes
3: don't mess with vinegar. use HCl.
4: experience will tell you in time. performing known processes in a controlled way will keep you safe.
