Ferrous Sulfate ( Rx kind)

Is Ferrous Sulfate (325mg tablets) the sames as Ferrous Sulfate that is used in precipitating gold from AR gold solution?

From the label it looks to be the same but I thought I would ask the forum experts-

It likely is a blend of ferrous sulfate and a filler of sorts, which you probably do not want to add to your gold. Tablets are commonly made that way.

Ferrous sulfate is a (very) pale green crystal, somewhat translucent. If the tablets you mentioned resemble that, could be they would work. I have serious doubts, however, and the price is likely far higher than you need to pay.

Gardening centers may still offer ferrous sulfate as an iron supplement for soil. That's a much more economical way to buy.
