Reviewing my scrap, I have about 200 floppy drives. The only item of value I can identify would be the gold plated pins on the rear connector. Any idea concerning other metals to recover out of a floppy drive?

Hello - Check the slide rods as some are stainless, the motor shaft is brass, copper coil in the motor, with a bit of exra brass, not much, but it all adds up, not sure about the smaller parts.

Some of them have an Aluminum case. The board goes in the low grade board pile after removing the pins and the one IC package.

I throw the bodies which are usually steel into my steel pile. I remove the pins and chip and toss he board onto my circuit board can. There is small amounts of stainless guide rods and a copper mother. Individually they arnt worth all that much but 200 can add up quickly.
