Just for reference I sent in rings clearly marked 10 karat, 12 karat, and 14 karat yellow gold to 1/3 of the weight of th entire sample. As a side note Cash-4-Gold is run by Garfield and they are under major indictment in Hawaii for taking a client for thousands of dollars in stamped bullion.

I've handled thousands and thousands of pieces of karat jewelry and I've never seen anything marked 12k that wasn't gold filled. I'm not saying it isn't possible, just saying.

Stay away from Garfield. They are the reason I found this Forum. They gave a low estimate at first. Then when I said I would like my material back they upped their estimate. I don't like games so thanks to this forum I started to refine on my own. First with a Map torch then a furnace. I am new to this but have enjoyed the journey so far.
