I'm brand spanking new to playing with gold and have been pretty lucky finding a little over 3 onces in one week. I have a box ready to ship today to Midwest Refineries and see nothing but bad things on here about them. A coworker here has been using them for years and has never had a problem. I see there are a lot of refineries on the east coast but not much (that I can find) in the west. Any help would be great otherwise I'll cross my fingers and just ship it to Midwest.

Lookup ARA in Texas before you send it to Midwest. If you are going to ship it, you may as well ship it to someone who will treat you fair.

I was helping a member recently, and he informed me that he thought that midwest had been dishonest with him,but he did not want to say it publically on the forum out of fear that someone from midwest would know it was him.
I do not know the details, but I do know the member pretty well, and I trust him.

I guess I'm glad USPS wouldn't ship the box Friday because of the kind of tape I used and not having a certain tape on it. I have the brown fiber tape here at work and should be shipping it soon USPS. It's a bummer Gold can't seem to creep back up to what it was a week ago but we'll see. I'm pretty excited to send it in! Midwest is like 3 weeks out or so  . 2-3 days from ARA is a no brainer if everything else goes well. I told another guy at work here who sent his stuff in to Midwest a week ago and now he wants to check out ARA. Thanks for you help everyone, I'll let you know how it goes!

If you weren't convinced before.....read this http://www.findmall.com/read.php?26,1081817,1085315
Read all of the posts on the page, they really bash midwest towards the end.

There's D H Fell in Commerce, CA. dhfell.com I can't really make a reco or a non-reco, they are just "a west coast refinery". I believe they are quite real, however, I have been in their plant, and they really have furnaces and produce their own stamped ingots and other products, and have been there for many years. Another place I was just turned on to is D H Forester (could be Forrester) in Belmont, CA, on the peninsula. Again, I have no direct experience with them.
