I wonder what's the best, fastest way to get rid of Chlorine gas from dissolving gold foils into HCL-CL process ?
What about adding more water to the solution while the beaker having a hot bath ?
can someone recommend an effective method ?
thx

Just give it a quick boil if you are in a hurry to get rid of the free chlorine.

Free chlorine does not like to stay in solution and will gas off on its own in a day or 2. If you heat it that speeds up rapidly. A boil is not necessary and can splash some of your gold chloride out of your beaker if it is not deep enough. As long as you did not overdo it with the chlorine you could just heat it until it is steaming for a half hour or so and be fine.
