GOLD FOIL QUESTION

Does anyone know what your end result, purity wise, would be if after stripping the gold foils from finger boards, (hot HCL bath I think?) and rather than dissolving and then dropping to powder etc, just melting the foils into a button or bar?? :?:

Just curios as I may wan tto do this and the refine further when time and the gold price permits.

You are better off saving the foils as they are. They will
be easier to get into solution, and you won't be wasting
your time or propane.

I mean....18kt? 22kt? not sure if it works that wat, just satisfying my curiousity! :roll:

You can sell after reduction
for analysis and refining

View years back I melted some gold foils into a button, and send it to a refinery. If I recall correctly it was 75% - 91% (18 – 22 ct)
