Here I have a board out of a Toshiba DP1870F model multifunction printer with Gold plated Silver connectors from inside the buttons. I am new to all of this. What is the best way to separate the gold from the silver? Thanks everyone!

i don't belive it is silver underneath , maybe nikel alloy of some kind...
throw it in hot HCL for a week, that should do it.

all that will remain is the gold foils...

There's not much gold on them but it is gold. I just throw them in the AP
with the gold plated fingers that I am processing. You could put them in
nitric if you use that as well.

It's a lot of labor to get those lttle contact points but I do collect
them when I have a scanner / notebook / etc. open. 8)

well, nickel is magnetic. and these contacts are not magnetic. thats why i thought it was silver. i have access to about 1000 of these boards, so the gold will add up a little bit. not sure how much. but probably something worth messing with.

well, if you can count how many of that contacts you have on each board
and the diameter of each size (i have noticed 2 diferent sizes there)
you can get an assay , based on 15-30 micro inch of thickness.
