Hi all,

Purchased it over 3 month ago, so the link is not visible anymore...
Listed on EBay under Stamps....

gold1.jpg

There were 600 stamps in it........price at 8.00 + 3.99 S+H

But what would be the best way to refine these..? It is goldfoil on paper . I think AP will give a mess......

dont want to disapoint you. the amount of gold on these will not cover what you paid for and cost of chemicals.

IF they are real gold, I would guess they have about $.03 worth of gold/sq.in. - the same as gold leaf. Therefore, if they average 1 sq.in. each, they would be contain about $18 worth of gold.

If they are a copper alloy, made to look like gold, they are worthless, as far as gold is concerned.

A drop of nitric acid will dissolve the copper. Gold will be unaffected.

I'd have thought that these would have more value as collectible stamps, but for only $8 + S/H I guess not. Still, I'd keep them as they are and stuff them in a drawer to hand down through several generations until they're worth their weight in gold :)

From first batch of 100 pieces , got a total of 0.4 grammes... :) Not that much, but nice job to do...

Today I purchased ($ 0.00, so for free ) a container with mediacal instruments , from 20-30 years ago....
Oscilloscopes,old computer-equipment etc,etc,

I hope that will be a better batch....

Kalf, not so fast!

Post up a list of the old medical and computer equipment you bought so some of us who know what that stuff is worth can tell you if you're better off selling the good stuff for far more than you could extract in precious metals. Some old computers can fetch thousands of dollars, especially the stuff from 2-3 decades ago.

Okay, if you are interested... ;-)

There is also a Beckman TJ-R6 Centrifuge ..(no gold in it) who is interested..? ;-)

Tomorrow I will list a dozen of photograph's here...

Untill now I have seen very heavy plated contacts......

:)
