Has anyone on the forum had dealings with XSTRATA copper in San Jose, Ca. (Good or Bad). I'm looking at sending 10,000 lbs of PCB their way... and would like recomendations please . Thank You, - Ken

I know someone who has dealt with XSTRATA in San Jose in the past. He expects to be ripped off by refiners, which is another issue all together. He says he doesn't like the length of time it takes XSTRADA to pay out (6-8 weeks) and although they do leave some on the table (his words meaning profit) they don't leave a lot. They don't do any of the refining in San Jose, only sampling.

There is also Metech http://www.metechrecycling.com/ located in Gilroy California, not far from San Jose. They do a lot of e-waste, and specifically are geared for PC Boards. You still should rep your material until you get a proper sample/assay and pay out. But you will probably be treated more fairly. I have dealt with them in the past on behalf of a customer (Repped their material), and although I cannot really disclose any info, can say that I believe I was dealt with fairly. Matter of fact the person I repped their material is on this forum, if they would like to chime in I would appreciate it, but understand if you prefer not to.
