i use hcl-clorox to obtain gold chloride from foils-------
i am thinking of obtaining gold from other itens like chips, pins ,plated material with hcl-clorox-----the help i need is to know if somebody in the forum does this and if i am going to have problems using this method for other itens and not only foils? thanks for replyes

As long as you remove your base metals to begin with you should be ok. If you can remove the solder from pins by clipping the ends I would run them thru a cell. A lot more labor but more chance of recovery IMHO. 8)

as long as you first get rid of the base metals with straight HCL then you can use HCL+Cl for your gold.
mind you you may miss out on some silver that might be present
