I am here to understand the E-waste recycling and metal recovering process. Started learning about hydrometallurgy vs pyrometallurgy processes.
Have lot of questions related to identification of raw materials, metal recovery process and waste management (like what should be done with the ceramic after the gold is extracted? can it be crushed and recycled too).

This forum has great wealth of information! thank you for letting me a part of your wonderful community.

Welcome to us.
We do not like the term Alchemy since it points to the ancient arts of superstition and black magic, we prefer the term Chemistry.
Here is a few links to jump start your studies:

We ask our new members to do 3 things.
1. Read C.M. Hokes book on refining jewelers scrap, it gives an easy introduction to the most important chemistry regarding refining.
It is free here on the forum: https://goldrefiningforum.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=54&t=19798
2. Then read the safety section of the forum: https://goldrefiningforum.com/forums/safety.47/
3. And then read about "Dealing with waste" in the forum: https://goldrefiningforum.com/threads/dealing-with-waste.10539/

Thank you so very much for sharing the information. Sorry i thought Alchemist sounded cool. I totally understand the point the word has relevance to ancient arts of superstition and black magic and will use Chemistry in further post.
