Hi folks,

I've already made several posts but never said a proper hello.

My name is Paul ( age 50 ) and am fairly new to the forum. I live in a small town in southern Ontario. I served in the Canadian Armed Forces from 1979 to 1984.

I've been interested in gold recovery and refining for quite some time, and basically know what I know from youtube videos, but have always wanted to get into this using the best and safest methods possible. I work in the chemical industry so I have some knowledge about acids and bases.

So far I've read Hoke's book twice through, and have managed to glean quite bit of info here in the forums. I'm glad I stumbled onto this site and am appreciative for all the experience posted here. I've yet to actually refine anything, but I want to make sure that I know what I'm doing before hand.

My primary interests are anything remotely aviation related, photography, the outdoors (camping / hiking / snowshoeing), metal casting (mainly aluminum), and of course refining PM's.

So, just a big hello, and also a big thank you in advance for any "dumb" questions I may have in the future. (I know.... no dumb questions. Only dumb answers.) And I'm glad to make your aquaintance.

Rusty. You don't remember this thread?

Yeah Joe, I remember the thread, I had a good laugh over it, and was smiling when I typed the "no comment". I think my "district" of the mafia needs more muscle power :)

you know, without making the forum super huge, a section for each nationality would be interesting. our founder is Canadian, but it seems like a great deal of our posters are U.S. Americans.

Actually, I might live in Ontario, but I'm a US Citizen, originally from Washington State via Las Vegas.
