How long have you been refining gold or have interest in precious metals? : never refined, unless you count experiments with auric acid more than 30 yrs ago, generally interested in chemistry, specifically anorganic, more specific analysis of compounds and alloys. And of course fascinated with gold, silver and most metals - least for their value, but for their beauty and their properties. Quite knowledgable about gems (esp. Sapphires) too. Oh yes... I also love to melt stuff ( just like Phoebe's brother :lol: )
What are you looking for in our community? : knowledge and all those little tricks, that no book can teach you and that one can only learn through years of practice e.g. just recently I loved that "spooning off the gold" scene in lazersteve's Video "Processing Fingers in AP Part 4" on his site... but I'm also looking forward to give something back to the community - now there is not a lot, that I can add on the processing side, that has not been posted already 5 times over, but by documenting and analyzing my failures and mistakes I might be able to help other beginners here. Every now and then I will be able to answer a newbies-question or guide them to the respective thread and save the pros and mods here some time. And in the fields of my profession I can share my experience regarding marketing, printing and publishing. I feel privileged to be here and hope you'll forgive my mistakes regarding my English - I'm not a native speaker. But do NOT hesitate to correct me.
How did you discover our Forum? Google via a search for Hoke + Gold . read her book some years ago (I bet, that you're a bit surprised now)
anything else, you can't resist to tell? lived and worked in the US (NY, L.A., Hawaii), UK(London), Japan, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Poland and Spain and see myself as a cosmopolitan, though it IS hard indeed to escape the way one grew up.
