I have been researching the gold recovery from electronics topic and I decided I wanted to do it. I am an environmental technician and I have a lot of lab experience with using strong acids but I have never even came close to using the acids that I will be dealing with. I'm sure I will be fine with my experience and LOTS of safety equipment. Can anyone tell me how actually dangerous it is. I have the impression that I am going to handle it like a nuclear fallout lol and that I can die in a few seconds.

The acids and other chemicals we use can be and are dangerous even more so when mixed, heated or when dissolving metals or combine the lot and you can imagine.

Thanks Nickvc! I am currently a water treatment operator and environmental technicians can do a whole wack of things that you would be surprised such as remediation of contaminated areas, air pollution control, environmental auditing, water and wastewater treatment, inspecting, mix of geology and hydrology, an environmental technician pretty much does everything in general concerning the environment lol. I am from Niagara falls Glondor! What about you?
