Hey guys I’ve been lurking and learning for a bit but this is my first post, I’m making my way through hoke’s book but still have tons to learn! Id appreciate any help. I have recently processed a heap of silver contacts in AP they where in solution for about 4 days to remove the copper base which worked well, i recovered the copper out of solution with iron which where beautiful copper crystals. Dried out the copper sludge for later recovery but ended up with this weird coloured oxide after dried. Now I now for sure there will be some iron in there and possibly some lead but this Color is peculiar as I usually get a nice clean colour oxide after cementing. Any clue?

Most likely cadmium, someone else can chime in on the hazards of this element.

At one time cadmium was used as a pigment in paint but has since been banned - health hazard.

Could also be tungsten.
