Hello-I have many what I thought were called semiconductors but who knows-they look like a rupee coin, silver ring with yellow center, about 11/2”. My dad is a very retired 95 year ild electrical engineer that worked with and designed these. Several years ago he demonstrated the extraction of a thin wafer of gold from each of these but for the life of me I can’t find any info anywhere. Any guidance is appreciated.

Possibly could be old spluttering targets.
Yeah they don’t look like much but I am confident theres gold in them discs
Only one way to find out.
Take them to a pawnshop or similar and let them scan it with a XRF.
Or try to process them.
