Well I am very new at this
My name is Kevin and I am 51 I am from Fairbanks Alaska
I am an over seas contractor working in Kandahar Afghanistan.
A couple nights ago I was checking out some videos on YouTube and ran across a video of recovering gold from circuit boards. That peeked my curiosity and I started checking out more videos on the subject and I followed a link and it brought me to this site. I plan on taking my R & R in July so I want to study up on the subject and order some dvd's and books, So if any of you old timers have any advice for me it would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Study the forum, study the processes for recovery and refining, know about SAFETY and waste disposal, find a post by LazerSteve and Palladium and read what is in their signature lines, read Hokes book and read, read, read and oh yeah.....read Hokes book!

Thanks for the advice, that's is what I am doing I have got Laser Steve's DVD and Hokes book should be here in a couple days and this is what I will be doing for the next two and one half months is studying. Watching Laser Steve's DVDs really boosted my confidence knowing that, I can do this.Laser Steve has a proven method and I will be adopting his way (safe and proven). So far I have purchased some easy stuff I thought would not be to difficult which is RAM, Gold pins and Gold filled jeweler. I will be searching for chemicals soon so when I get home I should have everything there and the basics down to start harvesting gold from computer scrap and scrap jeweler for now. I seek knowledge, and I will be picking apart this site for the useful information that you Old Timers so gracelessly bestowed upon us. And so I will bow my head in reverence, and will keep you guys informed, and when I need help I will first consult Hokes book before approaching the Forum. And I will show you my first buttons also and hold them high like a proud father showing off his children.
