Hi all! Great community here, In the past year I have been following the pm markets and been purchising some of my own. Now I am interested in every aspect involved. A friend asked me if I knew how to refine gold from electronic and I have no clue. So a little search online and I came across this forum. I am looking forward to learning anything I can and helping in any way I can.

Regards
M

Hi M , and welcome to the forum!
You've stumbled across the best place on the planet to study the art of the wet recovery and refining of precious metals , this is without doubt the open university on the subject!
There's a lot to learn and go through on the subject , and the best head start that you could be given in this field is your own copy of C. M. Hoke's 'Refining Precious Metal Wastes' , which describes the chemistry behind a lot of what goes on around here ;

Theres a whole lot more too , so hang about and let us all know how you get on with it!
All the very best with it , and kind regards ,
Chris :mrgreen:

You 2 are in Newmarket, (occasionally). Would either of you be willing to mentor?

i live in oakville, my circle is where ever the profit takes me. now that gas is 2/3 the price that circle is a bit bigger 8)

and not to discourage you but........ you have a fantastic mentor right on your screen :!:

i see people with 40 years + of experience on this board, total combined experience may be somewhere around 500 or 600 years.

that's a big house full of books.

Aye, but this amatuer enjoys hands-on learning, and real-time mentoring ensures I know right away if I'm about to make a mistake. It also ensures there is someone readily availible to phone emergency services in the case of an accident.

I wouldn't ask for you to go out of your way to reach me anyway. Got my own vehicle to get around in.

No I do live in Newmarket. Only problem I have is I don't have any material to work with besides some keyboard mylars that I'm sitting on. I don't have a vehicle so I have put aside collecting stuff...just reading the forums.

So if I was able to supply some scrap you might be interested, Rusty. I have a few circuit boards showing gold from broken game systems, and I can get my hands on some more E-scrap fairly easily.
