hi this is off a cpu from a dell laptop can anyone tell me what it is made of i have tried to do these in the past but still did not know how to proceed with it
is it brass copper or what and how would it desolve it ......or can i just melt it

Scratch it witha screwdriver and look at the color of the exposed metal. Most likely it is copper. What is it that you are trying to do with these? You can sell them to a scrap yard as #2 copper but I wouldn't melt or dissolve them. Please explain in more detail what you want to do.

i just did not know what they were made of if i know for sure what they were then i could proceed to do what is next save and sell to yard or if maybe they were some kind of precise metal proceed to refine that is all thanks for the reply ..... so basiccaly they are just some kind of heat sink then nothing special....
