Hello everyone! I am trying to find someone here in Texas that sells placer gold (it does not have to be Texas gold). I am wanting at least 5 grams anywhere from flakes, fine mesh, pickers etc. I will travel to pickup and pay in cash as long as you are in Texas. Can anyone help or point me in the right direction?

Thanks!
Kat

Welcome to the forum KatDSha. I'm sure one of our members can help you. But obviously not the new member that replies with pictures of rocks.

don't fall for guys selling "ore" please. The ones he offers are rocks, nothing else.

Samboelrod, that is not placer gold, are you trying to scam a new member here on your first post?
Do you know the difference between river gravel, float, hard rock ORE and placer gold? I guess not. What you have is river gravel. Toss it in the yard for decorative purposes.

Welcome to us.
It looks like river gravel, all right.
It may or may not contain Gold.
But what it is not, is Placer Gold.
The OP is looking to buy placer Gold and if he has not found it on this forum it can be bought "everywhere" in glass vials and such.
Placer Gold is flakes, powder or nuggets of metallic Gold.

Check it out around Llanos river
Is one of the very few places where you can find pan and sluice for gold in Texas.

there are few claims around there that I guess if You pay
they allows you to pan for gold.

there are some lode mines mostly southwestern Texas in presidio county

I have been there and mostly are in private land.
so check in mylandmatters website.

http://www.mylandmatters.org/

for the status of the land
if it is BLM ,state or private before going any where.
so You don’t waste your time going to places where You cannot enter.

I found thes in my gravel walk way in my backyard. It's from a 2 ton load of gravel so I could do walkway and driveway. I'm not sure where it's from but I know there are 2 gravel quarry's nearby. I live in the Cretaceous zone in the Texas 30 miles or so from the continent fault. I have Houston black clay for soil. I'm not trying to scam anyone. I simple answered the message because I have gold whatever you want to call it but it's gold and that's what was asked for and I got it from gravel.

Maybe, but the OP asked for placer Gold and this is not placer Gold.

Just because they are "golden" in color, does not make them Gold. A play on words can also be viewed as deception. It is frustrating when people do this. It makes for old world accountability- either a punch in the jaw, or a kick to the ribs.

If anyone can ID these specimens or any info at all I've been researching but I need other people's input to learn. I'm also always willing to sell or trade specimens. I picked this hobby up durn covid. And I have a lot of rock and no more space. I'm new to selling rocks or gold anything. I've only collected until now. All these came out of dump truck loads of gravel I guessing local. There are probably say 10 to 15 dump truck loads in the same property over 50 year period and we got sand sometimes as well. The gravel always dumped in same spot. It's a nice honey hole thx to my dad. There are fossils sometimes and rock that sound like pottery but I don't know. There where lots of Indian tribe that used to use my town as a trading post before the spaniards or white man. Various archeological sites are evedence it was inhabited almost 2000 years ago. So I have a lot of various things. I think I have some meteorites as well. I want to learn.

You have a lot of rocks. I would suggest any of the several mineral, geology, rockhounding, or lapidary clubs in the greater Dallas area. Most do not have websites, facebook pages, or the like, so you will have to do some homework to find some of them. This is, after all, a precious metals refining forum.

Have fun.

Time for more coffee.

Anyone out there have any input, ideas, or questions. I love to here them.
I have an idea: do not offer undefined gravel as placer gold for sale to new members and do not ask refiners about rocks and ore, we don't know enough about them, a picture says nothing but best guesses. Your in the wrong place. You have the wrong approach. Find a prospector or geologist to teach you.
There is a thread about "i found a rock" and that really is all we can offer. I think you've been directed to it before.

You a good collection
and picture #7

on that garnet

Samboelrod

I can tell you from my own experience
You have some rocks that can have gold
maybe very fine gold or in the microscopic level.

You have treasure in many way
maybe Not so in the way of $$$.

But for many peoples that collecting all kinds of rocks like myself.

What You have is treasure.

long time ago (I’m 50 years old now)
i was in a flee market that have a good section for minerals

and looking around I notice a table with some stones and at the floor near by
i saw a piece of obsidian .

that was a huge piece of obsidian
nice color and with few craks

I ask the person about that rock and the guy gave it to me for free.

man that guy doesn’t know the He had a treasure
I took it to a person who know how to work
lapidary and he create such a piece of art with it
that months the later I sold it for almost $1000

for some peoples some stones are garbage but for miners, stones artist like us is treasure.
