Well guys I've been reading hoke as instructed and in the first chapters it refers to floor sweeps. As it turns out the thing that brought my interests to this forum was finding dental scrap in a old dental office out of business since 81 that was slated for demo. yesterday they began tearing down the block the office is located on , so last night i went back and moved everything that was left in the room and swept the floor:) definitely some gold and silver particles or looks like silver could be a pmg dont know tho, but anyway as I type this they are tearing down the building and any hopes of making another find but i think I got it all. anyway from the matals i pulled from the dirt 2.3 grams of stuff i could just pick out with tweezers gold and silver and a little more than a half pound of dirt to be refined as in hokes book, for now I'll keep gathering whatever i can find and keep reading till i can process it safely.

Good detective work!. I had a story told to me by a demolition contractor, Tearing down a hospital. The xray film development lab floor drains and pipes were of cast iron. They were full of cemented silver. Many many many kilos of it. Treasure is where you find it!

I have heard that a barrel of iron filings will ion exchange with any silver in the water stream that flows thur the drum of iron filings. You want to use a transluecant plastic barrel. So when the black color creeps up through 3/4 of the barrel time to switch barrels with a fresh one and take the old one to your refinery.Nice to know it works with cast iron pipes too.The barrel of iron filings would have recovered more silver I would think.
