How do I sell gold that has been refined at home

I have 10 ounzes of this stuff. I think my father refined it from black sand using mercury about 40 yrs ago. I has a definite green look to it.

How do I know refiner will be honest? Should I get it assayed first? Its Yukon gold. I recall seeing where my father got some gold dust melted into bars and smelter took the silver and platinum as the fee.
