Ok, so I've been getting regular results that are in line with an assayer that we use to umpire results with the refiner. My next question would be, how do I get some form of official certification to be recognized as a reputable assayer in order to offer the service to the public as well as use our own results to umpire. I realize that to umpire our own lots with our refiner we're still going to have to go to a third party, and that's just part of the game. I'm just wondering what it takes to be one of those certified assayers that people are willing to use.

You can pay to be included in the ASTM round robin assay program. It will give you an idea of how well your lab compares with other participating labs.

This is for fire assays by cupellation only. A successful assay lab usually has instrumental capabilities for PGM's as well, as samples requiring more than gold and silver ase quite common for a commercial assay lab.

Some states, Arizona comes to mind, have regulatory programs for assayers.

I think Nevada also has a similar program.
