How do I use vacuum tubes to obtain a gold Pin sample?

With the appropriate tongs, quickly submerge the bulb end into the melt and pull it out rapidly.

I put it in but for some reason the bulb doesn't break. It should break correct?

Yes, if they are made right it will break upon entering the melt.

What temperature is the melt?

It sometimes takes a couple of seconds for the bulb to break, are you leaving the tube in long enough?

I've never had one take longer than a second--usually it is instantaneous.
