How is your studies going?thanks
removing gold from copper traces. Is your goal dissolving gold or removing gold from copper traces?
Because if it is for making AP, you do not need H2O2.
Experienced refiners can work with it to speed things up, but i do not recommend it to beginners.
How is your studies going?
Have you already read Hokes book?compared to the beginning it's better but I still have things to learn about the components and how to processes like chips or capacitors.
We never use ratios, and that is even more important with HCl/Bleach.I have another question. After the hydrochloric bath i use hydrochloric and bleach to dissolve the gold. And my ratio is 4/1 (200ml Hydrochloric and 50ml Bleach). Is it good?
the HCl bath is to remove the gold, the metal under. After filtration ill add 200ml HCl and bleach until saturation for dissolving the gold and i wait 1 day for the next stepWe never use ratios, and that is even more important with HCl/Bleach.
What do you do with the HCl bath?
Remove Tin?
HCl, will not touch Copper alone and as such will not release the Gold foils.the HCl bath is to remove the gold, the metal under. After filtration ill add 200ml HCl and bleach until saturation for dissolving the gold and i wait 1 day for the next step
He is using HCl + H2O2 for his AP and HCl + bleech for the filtered foils.HCl, will not touch Copper alone and as such will not release the Gold foils.
You need AP for that, HCl and air bubbling will fix this.
There is no need to filter it, shake/clean off the foils with water and siphon off the fluids.
Add HCl to cover it and then a bit more, add a few drops of Bleach(Hypochlorite) until it no longer reacts then add more.
If you premix you will loose most of the Cl- and risk neutralizing the HCl.
You have not studied enough to understand why you are doing what you do.
Put your things away in a safe place and continue your studies before you try again.
no i don't premix. I put the materials into the beacher, pours HCl after that i pour bleach little by little until there is no reaction. And i use also peroxyde with HCl in the first step so don't worryHCl, will not touch Copper alone and as such will not release the Gold foils.

A very interesting document about the cupric chloride leach.no i don't premix. I put the materials into the beacher, pours HCl after that i pour bleach little by little until there is no reaction. And i use also peroxyde with HCl in the first step so don't worry
You need to get your names and chemical correct so we know what you are talking about.no i don't premix. I put the materials into the beacher, pours HCl after that i pour bleach little by little until there is no reaction. And i use also peroxyde with HCl in the first step so don't worry
