The best advice I can give you is to start reading , a good start is Hokes book a free download from several members tag lines, this will help you understand the chemistry and hence what is discussed here.
While you study you can start collecting materials to refine as it may take some time to become confidant in your abilities, remember the chemicals and fumes are all toxic to some degree and disposing of your waste needs to be done safely and legally.
