Hello All
First I must say being a newbe to the recovery game, I am very happy to have found this site.
I have spent a lot of time over the past year trying to learn about recovery and refining and never came acrossed this site until tonight> LOL
anyway> My question tonight is this> I have a crude cell using sulfuric acid ( Virgin drain cleaner) and Glycerin ( laxitive)
and after stripping My plated parts ( ring, pins, etc)>
I smelted a good size bead of gold 3.2 grams>
after this I made a Nitric solution from battery acid ( new clean) and Potasium Nitrate( saltpetra) and heated it to 150
I hammered My Bead flat and dropped it the Nitric solution for 2 hours.
The good news is when finnished it was still 3.2 grams ( smile)
So I think I got all that going correctly????
Now what I need to know is can I drop anything else out of the sulfuric acid? I still have the solution as I used filters to gather the gold.
Or is it junk to be boiled down or neutralized?
Thanks and I'm sure I will have many more questions
Jim
