Is this Gold? Found in rock

I'm not even sure if anyone here can help me! I am trying to find out what this is! Found the rock on a beach in MA & cracked it open.

Probably not gold. Break out a small amount. If you can, and it crumbles, it isn't. Most likely a sulfide of some description. That's not to say it may not contain gold---but gold that is visible should also be quite malleable--it will flatten, not shatter.
