Im new to this forum but Ive been collecting gold scrap for a while now. I buy surplus at auctions and sell what i can and scrap the rest. I usually scrap copper wire and aluminum from police lightbars that are junk and i cant resell. I get pallets of old electronics sometimes just to get the 1 item I need, then part the electronics for wire, aluminum or gold. either way i have about 2.5lbs of this stuff so far.
Now I have right now about 300 Motorola radios that got drilled and the logic boards are no good. The radios are old and no replacement parts exist, the other parts are good and use them to replace other radios. The boards have chips with the gold and the side buttons have a flex ribbon type wire with gold contract pic #2. should i just cut the round contacts or does the whole flex have gold conductor?
I plan on selling the scrap but want it to have the least amount of non-gold scrap as possible. Like I said i have 300 or so and part out 1-4 a day depending on how many other radios I fix.
