14K gold, or 14k/24k = 0.5833% gold by weight

So it would take about 17.5 troy ounces of 14K jewelry to make about 10 troy 0unces of 24K gold.
17.5 x 0.583 = 10.20 ounces

For 10 karat gold or 10/24K = 0.4166% gold by weight

so it would take about 24.5 troy ounces of 10k gold to make about 10 troy ounces of 24K gold.
24,5 x 0.4166 = 10.20 troy ounces of 24k gold

18 k gold or 18K/24 = 75% gold by weight

So about 13.5 troy ounces of 18k gold would give you approximately 10 troy ounces of purer gold
13.5 x 0.75 = 10.125 troy ounces of 24k gold

You are mixing parts and parts per hundred ie %
