Lead test

Does any of the chemists on the forum know how sensitive of a test potassium iodide is for lead.

I want to test some pewter items to be certain they are lead free.

The procedure is dissolve some in a bit of nitric acid and add a drop of potassium iodide solution.

Will this detect say 1/2% lead?

I found this on Google, looks like 10 ppm detection threshold if I'm reading it correctly.
