I recently picked up an old projector type video player. It was in an aluminum box. I took it apart to scrap the aluminum and found a couple silver contact points. There was also this big ole potentiometer. It had a silver wire wrapped around an aluminum bar with some sort of fiberglass between them. Just wondering if any body came across something like this and if it would be palladium or silver wire. From my limited knowledge of palladium it felt like the contact points in the hammond organ which are palladium but seemed more shiney than the ones i came acrosss. It's probably just a penny weight. Any insight would be helpfull. I don't have any testing solution at the moment so right now it's not an option.

Possibile an alloy of Ni/Cr alloy (80/20).....for an potentiometer it have to be an material that has a big resistence (ohms to be accurate) per meter.....
Lots ot types of alloys...Nickrotal...manganine....mostly made with Ni and Cr..
