I was going through my telecom scrap and decided to go into the details on possible return from NEC Fiber Optic telecom board.

It has 3 small "gold" CPUs, all solder points for any direct wire connections are gold. I assume SnAu solder or?

Did anyone assayed the same of similar boards and if so what were the results?

I am attaching 2 pictures, 1 is full board the second one is zoomed to one of the CPUs area.

Solder on a PCB is never gold based, it is led free or led based solder. If it looks golden it is probably covered in a thin layer of flux. Try scratch it and you'll see the normal solder peeking through.

SnAu is a higher temperature braze/solder that would burn the PCB before it would melt. It is used to braze the die inside a chip, pins on the side of the chip or the lid to the chip. It must have a higher melting point so it doesn't fall apart when soldered to the circuit board.
