Hello everyone!
I'm new to scraping and refining, and i'm in a phase of collecting stuff and learning about all this.
I have decided this to be my new hobby. When i gather enough material, then I plan on extracting PM.
I have started with some cell phones and a few motheboards. I just need help with identifying some stuff and I'd appreciate
if enyone could tell me if I can sell some of it online. I'll post more pics later.
Thanks in advance!

In the first and second pictures you have brass, if you want to learn about cellphones Geo has a good tutorial about this stuff.

yep, the first is brass, the second is brass, the third is anodized aluminum, the fourth is stainless steel and the last is the flatpaks on the cellphone board. the black chips actually contain more gold than the visible gold seen on the shielding traces.

So I shouldn't even bother with the first two?

I have these also. I'm wondering if any of it could be sold anywhere.

there are a few Escrap companies that buy electronic scrap. www.boardsort.com is a good place to start. forum member "Ocean" buys cellphones, he may have a market for the phone components.

Your second set of pictures, top is a motherboard about $3-$4 a lb. Look up Boardsort on this forum and talk to chris, he buys those. Second photo a form of ic chip, chris buys those as well, the bottom pictures are what we consider penny wise, ( pound foolish ), costs more to refine than the value of what's inside. Sell them as breakage or scrap aluminum. Hope this helps. Jonn
Geo posted a link for you for boardsort, send pictures to chris
Also search the forum with keywords, for instance, CPU, ic chip, flatpack etc. And read what the pros are saying. There's a world of information on here and lots of great people. Happy new year!

i collect those too. I figure, if I had the work to dismantle/collect them I might as well sell them eventually once I have a few kilos. Brass sells for about € 3 a kilo

Happy new year

I dismember everything I get my hands on and to help make it worth the effort, I put stanless steal screws in it's own bucket... As well as any brass I can pluck out easily. I even break the coils down if it's quick n easy.

BS.
Everything is worth something so look while you're there...
